Thanks for the prayers, I pray we're doing right by him with the shunt. Our primary doctor said it would be good for him and we trust him completely...but I'm still scared...

Your doing the right thing for Norm, I'm sure your doctor wouldn't advise you unless he thought it was absolutely necessary for Norm to have the shunt put in...
Just know even though were all miles away you can always cry on our shoulders.....
Let us know how the surgery went as we'll be thinking of you both all day.....

I haven't posted in a while here. Norm's doing well. The shunt surgery went fine and he was moved to Parma Hospital the next day for rehab. This will be his first full week of rehab, but they are amazed at the improvement in him from the first day that he arrived.

I'm looking forward to the next swap...Peggy

I have no dates on how long in rehab. I doubt he will be home before August 1st. In fact I hope he's in there the first full week of August as I have my own medical appointments I have to go to, then I wouldn't have to worry about getting a sitter...he gets evaluated Thursday morning by the doctor..

No dates for rehab. I don't expect him home before August 1. As I figured it's short term memory they are concerned about. Also his concentration span. The Dr. evaluates him on Thursday, so I should know more. He has improved with swallowing which is excellent as they may give him solid food by the end of the week...macaroni/cheese, etc...
